The Lagos State Government has further eased the statewide curfew which was earlier imposed on Tuesday, October 20. The curfew will now run from 8 pm to 6 am while movement will be allowed between 6 am and 8 pm.

This was disclosed by Gbenga Omotoso, the state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, on Sunday, October 25, in a statement. This means residents can go out between 8 am and 6 pm with effect from now on.

Recall that on Saturday, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu promised to review the curfew after relaxing the restrictions from 4pm to 6pm. However, public schools around the state have been instructed to remain shut down until further notice.

Omotoso said, “Curfew in Lagos State has been reviewed. Restriction time is now 8pm to 6am. Lagosians are enjoined to plan their journey times as go they go about their lawful businesses. Public schools in the State still remain shut till further notice.”

The new update comes after Federal Executive Council (FEC) members from Southwest and Governors commiserated with Sanwo-Olu in a courtesy visit over the large-scale destruction of public and private facilities by hoodlums who had hijacked the #EndSARS protests by youths.
