Late General Sani Abacha is the kind of ancestor every country pray to have. Even in death, the late General has not failed in taking care of Nigeria, although from the dubious money he has stashed all over the world.

It has been rumored that the late General who was Head of State of Nigeria looted between $5b to $8b. However, since 1999, the sum of $5.35b has been recovered by the collective efforts of General Abdulsalaam Abubakar, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan and President Muhammadu Buhari. He stashed the money principally in four major countries but not limited to them. The four countries the money has been recovered from include; Switzerland, Jersey Island in United Kingdom, United States and Lichtenstein.

The newest of the recovery was made on the 4th of May 2020 from the United States and the Bailiwick of Jersey. The money which was originally $308m when it was transferred to the Central Bank of Nigeria has now appreciated to $311m.

$48 million from United States in 2014

$380 million from Switzerland in 2015

4. Muhammadu Buhari
$322 million from Switzerland in 2017
