3 of Mark Zuckerberg’s major investments

Like other rich people in the world, Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg has lot of investments/portfolios.

According to investopedia, the following are the three major investment Zuckerberg, Facebook founder.

1. philanthropic history

Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan made headline news and philanthropic history in 2015 when they pledged to give away 99% of their wealth over their lifetimes. However, unlike Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ: MSFT), this money is funneled into a limited liability corporation controlled by Zuckerberg and Chan. This essentially means the new LLC becomes, in time, one of the wealthiest investors. Zuckerberg stated in the historic pledge that only $1 billion a year over the next few years would be pulled out of Facebook, with the amount growing at some point in the future. The purpose of the LLC focuses on “advancing human potential and promoting equality” through philanthropic investments and by backing political causes.

2. Company Investments

Zuckerberg has invested in a multitude of education and technology companies, which include Panorama Education, Vicarious, MasteryConnect and Asana.

Zuckerberg, along with other investors, such as GV and A-Grade Investments, all invested $4 million in Panorama, which focuses on bringing big data analytics to school boards throughout the United States. Zuckerberg and a few investors, including Elon Musk and Ashton Kutcher, all invested $40 million into Vicarious, which aims to bring artificial intelligence to robots. Zuckerberg was part of a $50 million round of funding into Asana, a project and task management cloud platform for teams. Lastly, Zuckerberg has invested $5 million into MasteryConnect, a company that builds software for teachers to better manage student progress.

Part of a person’s net worth, when you are as rich as Zuckerberg, usually contains real estate, and he is no different. Zuckerberg purchased his first home in Palo Alto, California, in 2011 for $7 million. He then began buying the homes around him for privacy reasons, spending more than $43 million. He owns a townhouse in San Francisco, a plantation in Hawaii, and properties in Lake Tahoe all worth approximately $170 million in total.
