Bob Marley, the most transcendent and iconic figure of Reggae was the first Jamaican artist to reach international superstars in the process of presenting his native nation’s music in the most remote corners of the world. Marley’s music has given voice to the daily struggles of the Jamaican experience, vividly capturing not only the situation of the poor and oppressed of the country, but also the devout spirituality that remains their source of strength. His songs of faith, devotion and revolution have created a legacy that continues to live not only through the music of his extended family, but also through generations of artists from all over the world touched by his genius.

Robert Nesta Marley was born on February 6, 1945 in the rural parish of St. Ann, Jamaica; son of a middle-aged white father and a teenage black mother, he left home at 2pm to pursue a musical career in Kingston, becoming a student of local singer and devout Rastafarian Joe Higgs. He cut his first single, “Judge Not,” in 1962 for Leslie Kong, breaking ties with the famous producer immediately after a monetary dispute. In 1963, Marley joined other singers Peter Tosh, Bunny Livingston, Junior Braithwaite, Beverly Kelso and Cherry Smith to form the vocal group Los adolescentes; Later, they returned to baptize Wailing Rudeboys and then simply the Wailers signed with legendary producer One Coxsone Dodd and recorded their debut, “I’m still waiting.” When Braithwaite and Smith left the Wailers, Marley assumed the main vocal functions and, in early 1964, the band’s sequel, “Simmer Down”, surpassed the Jamaica charts. A series of singles followed, including “let him go (Rude Boy Get Gail)”, “Dancing Shoes”, “Jerk in Time”, “what you hear the hall” and “Cosa II Do Do Do”, and, in general, The Wailers recorded about 70 songs for Dodd before melting in 1966. On February 10 of that year, Marley married Rita Anderson, a singer from the Soulettes group; Later he was successful as a member of the vocal trio I-Threes. Marley spent most of the year working in a factory in Newark, Delaware, her mother’s house since 1963.

Upon his return to Jamaica in October, Marley reformed the Wailers with Livingston and Tosh, releasing “Bend Down Low” with his short label M Wail ‘N’ Soul ‘; At that time, the three members began to devote themselves to the teachings of the Rastafarian faith, a milestone of Marley’s life and music until his death. Starting in 1968, the Wailers recorded a large amount of new material for producer Danny Sims before joining the following year with producer Lee “Scratch” Perry; backed by The Band Perry, The Upsetters, the trio cut a series of classics like “My Cup”, “Conquering Spirit”, “Omnipotent Soul” and “Small Ax”, which fuses powerful vocals, ingenious rhythms and visionary production. lay the foundations for much of Jamaican music in its wake. Aston bassist “Family Man” Barrett and Carlton Battery soon joined the Wailers full-time, and in 1971 the group founded another independent label, Tuff Gong, which released a handful of singles before signing with Island Records by Chris Blackwell one year later

According to Naira Marley, he never planned or imagined to be a singer. . His mind was focused on being an MC and a voice over artiste until he discovered he had music talent.

Naira Marley claimed he use to pay for his friends studio tracks  till he tried his luck one day and saw the potential he got.
